Virgin Mary’s Girdle at Archangel Raphael Chaldean Cathedral in Baabda

On Monday, May 3, 2021, on the occasion of the beginning of the Marian Month, the Archangel Raphael Chaldean Cathedral in Baabda, received a relic of the Virgin Mary’s Girdle, which surrounded her immaculate body accepting God. The relic was was received by Bishop Michel Kassarji, the primate of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon.

Monsignor Raphael Traboulsi celebrated the Divine Liturgy with the assistance of Fathers Joseph Raffoul, Dawood Abi Al-Hassan, and Fadi Boulos, in the presence of Bishop Kassarji and Metropolitan Mar Theophilus George Saliba, Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Mount Lebanon, who gave an eloquent speech following the Gospel,

emphasizing the importance of the moment, and explaining the honorable girdle’s past. May the Virgin protect our nation and its people from this deadly epidemic and pour out healing blessings on our country by the force of her holy girdle and her intercession with her only son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
