At the joint official invitation of the Middle East Council of Churches and the National Evangelical Church of Beirut, the Lebanese capital hosted a united spiritual and faith-based event in the form of an ecumenical prayer service celebrating the 2026 Season of Creation, held under the inspiring theme “Living Water,” drawing its inspiration and meaning from the biblical passage in Ezekiel 47:9, 12, which speaks of the life-giving power of living water. The Chaldean Diocese of Beirut ensured its active presence and representation at this significant ecumenical gathering, with Deacon Tony Al-Jiddo participating as the Diocese’s official representative, reaffirming the deep fraternal bonds, living communion, and shared Christian witness among the various church communities in Lebanon and the region. The solemn spiritual celebration took place at the National Evangelical Church of Beirut, located directly opposite the Grand Serail, on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The gathering was distinguished by notable attendance, meaningful discussions, and profound ecumenical engagement, all centered on strengthening collective prayer for the care and preservation of creation and reflecting on the profound spiritual lessons offered by the Holy Scriptures, which guide humanity toward protecting the environment and the universe as a sacred gift from God that calls for solidarity and collective responsibility among all churches and believers.
