Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona Visits Patriarch Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan

On Thursday, July 23, 2026, at midday, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona, Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and throughout the world, visited His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan, Patriarch of Antioch of the Syriac Catholic Church, at the Patriarchal See in the Museum district of Beirut. Patriarch Nona was accompanied by His Excellency Bishop Michel Kassarji, Head of the Chaldean Community in Lebanon. The meeting was attended by Bishops Boulos Abdel Sater, Joseph Soueif, Barnabas Yousif Habash, Ephrem Yousif Abba, Jihad Battah, and Daniel Kourieh, as well as Fathers Raphael Trabelsi, Habib Morad, Karam Shamasha, Nabil Al-Danno, Karim Kallas, Majid Midei, and Boutros Salman, together with Sisters Huda Helou and Ikhlas Cheito, and Seminarian Deacon Mario Majdi. The meeting began with a joint prayer in the Patriarchal Church dedicated to Saint Ignatius of Antioch the Martyr. During the prayer, both Patriarchs delivered welcoming remarks, expressing their appreciation for the sister Church and emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to unite initiatives and serve people amid the difficult circumstances facing the suffering Middle East. On this occasion, Patriarch Younan presented Patriarch Nona with the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Deliverance. Following a tour of the various sections of the Patriarchal residence and a fraternal meeting that addressed current ecclesiastical and social issues, everyone shared a meal of fellowship in an atmosphere of brotherhood and communion.
