On the evening of Wednesday, July 22, 2026, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona, Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and throughout the world, visited His Excellency Bishop Mar Mathias Charles Morad, Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Catholic Church, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation in the Museum district of Beirut. He was accompanied by Bishop Michel Kassarji. The gathering brought together several former classmates who had known Patriarch Nona during his years of study in Rome, including Bishops Joseph Naffah and Jihad Battah, Monsignors Joseph Ghabash and Sassine Chloueit, as well as Fathers Raphael Traboulsi, Nabil Al-Danno, Karam Shamasha, Tony Chamaa, André Farah, Michel Hamoui, Tanios Rizk, Jean-Paul Abou Ghazaleh, David Malki, and Maroun Harb. Following a brief prayer, Bishop Morad presented Patriarch Nona with a blessing cross as a commemorative gift, after which those present shared a fraternal meal in an atmosphere of fellowship, friendship, and Christian charity.
