On the second day of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Lebanon, His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael Sako celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Chaldean Patriarchate in Beirut at 7:30 a.m., with the participation of Bishops Michel Kassarji and Sabri Anar, Vicar General Raphael Trablousi, and Deacon Nabil Riyad Al-Dalo. At noon, His Beatitude visited the Armenian Catholic Our Lady of Bzommar Monastery, honoring the relics of Saint Ignatius Maloyan, recently canonized, before joining a meeting with the Eastern patriarchs and the Pope at the Papal Nunciature in Harissa, where they shared lunch. At 4:00 p.m., His Beatitude, together with the two bishops and members of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon, including clergy and laity, participated in an ecumenical gathering with non-Catholic Christians, Muslims, and Druze in Martyrs’ Square in central Beirut, attended by leaders of all religious communities. At 6:00 p.m., the second day of the papal visit concluded with a youth gathering dedicated to the Holy Father, attended by deacons of the eparchy, youth leaders, Miss Mira Kassarji representing Chaldean youth in APECL Jeunes, and a large number of young people from Lebanon and Iraq, who renewed their pledge before the successor of Peter to always be builders of a civilization of peace, love, and brotherhood in a world suffering under the burden of conflicts and divisions.
