On Sunday, November 30, 2025, His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael Sako, accompanied by Bishops Michel Kassarji and Sabri Anar and Vicar General Raphael Trablousi, participated in welcoming His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at Beirut International Airport. His Beatitude then proceeded with his entourage to the Presidential Palace in Baabda, where a formal reception was held attended by the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister, and a large gathering of religious, political, military, administrative, and diplomatic figures. In the evening, His Beatitude took part in a private retreat with the Eastern Catholic patriarchs at the Maronite Patriarchal residence in Bkerki, which concluded with a table of fellowship.
