On the evening of March 25, 2025, as part of the celebrations of the Feast of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mother of God, Deacon Raphael Koupaly represented His Excellency Bishop Michel Kassarji at the enthronement ceremony of the Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church’s new Maphrian in India, Mor Baselius Joseph.
The ceremony was presided over by His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II Karim at the Patriarchal Residence in Aoush Tana, in the presence of high-ranking ecclesiastical and political officials. Representatives of various Christian churches participated, along with a large number of believers, some of whom came from India, Syria, Iraq, and the Holy Land.
