On Sunday, February 9, 2025, the Bishop of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon, His Excellency Michel Kassarji, took part in the official papal celebratory Mass held for the Feast of Saint Maron at Saint George Maronite Cathedral in downtown Beirut.
The Mass was presided over by His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Maronites, assisted by Bishop Paul Abdel Sater and Bishop Hanna Alwan.
The ceremony was also attended by His Beatitude Joseph Absi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Melkite Greek Catholics, His Beatitude Joseph III Younan, Patriarch of the Syriac Catholics, the Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon, Archbishop Paolo Borgia, along with several bishops, priests, monks, and nuns from various churches.
Among the distinguished guests were the President of Lebanon, General Joseph Aoun, and his wife, First Lady Nehmat Aoun; Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri; Prime Minister Judge Nawaf Salam and his wife Sahar Salam; newly appointed ministers; members of parliament; former officials; and a host of diplomats, political figures, military and security officials, judges, union representatives, media professionals, social dignitaries, and a large congregation of believers.
