On December 31, 2024, Ms. Nada Karim Majoul, Chargé d’Affaires at the Iraqi Embassy, and Mr. Heman Maskouni, Legal Officer for Iraqis at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Coordinator at the Iraqi Embassy visited the Chaldean Church Bishop in Lebanon, His Excellency Michel Kassarji, at the Chaldean Diocese of Beirut, with the presence of the media Director, Miss Mira Kassarji.
During the visit, the Iraqi delegation extended their Christmas and New Year greetings to Bishop Michel Kassarji, expressing their best wishes for peace and prosperity to him, the clergy, and the faithful of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon.
The visit also addressed the issue of Iraqi refugees in Lebanon, discussing ways to enhance cooperation between the Iraqi Embassy and the diocese in this regard. The talks focused on exploring ways to provide support to Iraqi refugees in Lebanon, particularly in light of the current challenging circumstances in the country.
