Bishop Michel Kassarji visits the Baabda Palace

The Primate of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon, Bishop Michel Kassarji, visited the Baabda Palace, where he met with the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun.
During the meeting, Bishop Kassarji conveyed to President Aoun the greetings of Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael Sako, Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans, and his wishes to his Excellency for success in leading the country’s ship towards the coast of safety.
Bishop Kassarji informed the President of the Republic on the results of the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Iraq and the meetings that the Pope held with the Iraqi people and the Chaldean Church members, clergy, laity, and other spiritual and political leaders. It is known that this visit is considered historic in every sense of the word.
Bishop Kassarji also discussed with President Aoun issues of concern to the Chaldean community in Lebanon and the Iraqi refugees in Lebanon and the assistance provided by the Chaldean Church, which is insufficient, given the difficult living conditions.
In turn, President Aoun expressed his interest in this issue and his follow-up on it, and gave his directions to the concerned authorities to deal with it.
